Once Upon A Time "We Are Both" review/thoughts
This season is still good, but slightly confusing in places XD
[Spoiler (click to open)]
  1. "I will not listen to childcare lectures from a man who put his daughter in a box and shipped her to Maine." LOL.
  2. Regina's mom is really creepy. She clearly believes she's doing the right thing. Kind of ironic how Regina becomes so much worse of a person than even her mom seems to be, and how Regina was treated by Cora is mirrored by how Regina then in turn treats Henry. Henry is pretty much Regina (Kind of now wanting to see future dark!Henry)!
  3. "Are the nuns still nuns ... or can they, y'know, date?" SO SO SO WRONG.
  4. Speaking of which ... I kind of miss Amy Acker. I thought that the Dreamy episode was so lame, but I keep looking for her all the same =(
  6. Rumple's kind of creeping on Regina ... not so sure what that's about @.@ Guess we'll find out more soon?
  7. Also not sure what's up with Rumple being so violently upset about not being able to leave Storybrooke. I never got the sense that he particularly ... cared? And now he's standing at the border ... did he plan to leave?
  8. I thought that the mad hatter left the dimension? Not sure how he got back? He was so focused on finding his daughter that it surprises me a bit that we haven't seen her looking for him, or him trying to find her again now that she knows who she is.
  9. Awww Regina does have some redeeming qualities
  10. ... what happened to Pinocchio? =X
  11. OOH Cora!!! But I thought she was in a different dimension? (Is that what Rumple meant by "future" connection with their families? IDEK).

6. Yep. And I ship them as a bad and twisted ship so I'm happy!

7. He definitely planned to leave. He talked about a few times towards the end of last season and was packing maps and bags in this episode. The whole curse is a plan to find his son after all and he can't do that stuck in Storybrooke. :)

8. Jefferson was in the finale so we know he was in Storybrooke as of the curse breaking. No idea what happened to him in Hat Trick though - that was never explained.

11. Cora went through the Looking Glass so I'd say she was absolutely in a different dimension (which I pretty positive is Wonderland). However, that was 15 years ago so who knows what she has been up to since.

Re: 7: they implied that Rumple wanted he curse to happen so he could follow his son into the non-magical dimension, hut then he had to wait until the curse was broken to go looking for him...and now he finds he is still stuck there. So I would assume that that is the source of his frustration (and we saw him looking at the maps earlier).

For me the most confusing part was where these new flashbacks fit into the timeline established by the last Regina back story epoch, when we saw her trying on her wedding dress.

I thought that Rumpel was upset because being unable to leave without becoming Mr Gold permanently would mean he wouldn't be able to see Bae again.

Rumpel *was* creeping on Regina, but that's because she's the firstborn child of the miller's daughter...you have to know the original tale of Rumpelstiltskin. Besides, Robert Carlyle has chemistry with everybody. It's ridiculous.

I thought Cora was the Queen of Hearts in Wonderland, so IDK why she showed up at the end...

Oh, now I want to see dark!Henry too!

I'd heard Pinnochio wouldn't be the same as in S1 and I so liked August in the end that this distresses me ;_; I hope he's not too upset about being wood again to search out his dad - too sad!

Watching Regina give Henry his freedom, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, 'cause she's so very very rarely shown to be repentant or giving or caring. So very nice to see it finally!

Personally, the line from Rumple that got me was when he said they had history together, in the future and the past. Cause that's not remotely enigmatic :P

As for Rumple, I still think it had to do with finding his son.

And Cora, can't wait to see what happens there.

Poor Pinocchio!! :(

1. such a nice burn ngl
2. loved the parallels
6. I'm thinking the 'original' Rumplestilskin story is about him taking Regina as a baby and possibly making a deal with Cora (who is a miller's daughter) and that that's who they're tied. Maybe he saw the strong magic in her even as a child and made ~plans~ or whatever. We'll see.
7. Popular theory is that he's looking for Bae or that guy from the beginning of the last episode (if he isn't Bae). Camers did make sure we saw the detail of Gold packing the maps of New York.
8. No idea about the Mad Hatter. Techincally we never saw him leave Storybrook, he just went through the wondow and sorta.. disappeared I guess. *shrug*
9. I have a special love for redemption arcs so I hope that's what we get for her (if she's serious about it, anyway)
11. Yeah, I thought Cora was the Queen of Hearts ngl. So that ending was a bit of a surprise.
